Two Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Benton

(BENTON, Ky.) — Two women were arrested on drug-related charges Saturday afternoon after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Benton Police Department.

Officer Peyton Jackson conducted the traffic stop around 3:55 p.m. on December 27 at the Five Star gas station on 5th Street after observing a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Bobbie Reynolds of Mayfield, with passenger Malisa Johnson of Calvert City.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia that had been hidden inside, police said.

Both Reynolds and Johnson were arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail. Reynolds was also found to have an active warrant out of Graves County.

Officer Jackson was assisted at the scene by Officer Luke Rudd of the Benton Police Department and Deputy Evans of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
