(HOPKINSVILLE, Ky.) — History was made on the hardwood Monday night as Christian Fellowship School senior Elijah Grigg etched his name atop the school’s all-time scoring list, surpassing a record that had stood for nearly three decades.

Grigg broke Chris Johnson’s long-standing mark of 2,621 points, set in 1996, finishing the evening with 2,630 career points as the Eagles cruised to a dominant 79-41 victory over Heritage Christian of Hopkinsville.

The milestone moment came during a game that saw Christian Fellowship control from start to finish, with Grigg leading the charge in his record-breaking performance. The senior’s achievement continues in a storied career for the Eagles, rewriting the record books in the process.

Johnson’s 2,621 points had remained the benchmark for CFS basketball excellence for 28 years, a testament to both his scoring prowess and the difficulty of reaching such heights. Grigg’s surpassing of that total solidifies his place in Eagles basketball history.

With the two months left in the regular season, Grigg now has the Region One all-time scoring mark in his sights.
