(BENTON, Ky.) — A special Christmas party aimed at supporting isolated seniors across six western Kentucky counties will take place Tuesday morning, bringing together community partners committed to ensuring no elder is forgotten during the holiday season.

The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. on December 23 at 201 E. 11th Street in Benton, will serve elderly residents from Marshall, McCracken, Graves, Calloway, Fulton, and Hickman Counties. The celebration is a collaborative effort between Walnut Grove Church of Christ in Benton, Fulton County Transit Authority, and LIFE COORDINATED Commonwealth PACE.

Organizers say the gathering serves a dual purpose: providing a festive celebration for seniors while raising awareness about the widespread issue of elder isolation in the region’s Purchase Area Development District (PADD) service area.

“This is about bringing joy to those often forgotten,” organizers stated in announcing the event, emphasizing the importance of community partners working together to address senior isolation during the holidays and beyond.

The three organizations have joined forces to ensure transportation and support services are available to help isolated elders participate in the celebration.
