(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — Two veteran school administrators were recognized Thursday for their decades of service to education as they prepare to close the final chapter of their careers.
Brian Harper, principal of Marshall County Technical Center, and Shannon Solomon, principal of Marshall County High School, were celebrated at a special ceremony honoring their contributions to the district.
Both administrators have dedicated their careers to shaping educational opportunities for Marshall County students. Harper led the technical center’s vocational and career training programs, while Solomon guided the county’s flagship high school.
“We want to wish Marshall County Technical Center Principal Brian Harper and Marshall County High School Principal Shannon Solomon all the best in retirement,” Superintendent Bill Thorpe said in a statement. “Thanks for all you have done for the Marshall County School District.”
The district did not immediately release details about succession plans for either position.
Retirement celebrations for longtime educators are common at the end of school years, as administrators who have spent careers in education transition to the next phase of their lives.
