Robert Johnson Announces Candidacy for Marshall County Jailer

(MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky.) – Robert Johnson has announced he is running for Marshall County Jailer in the upcoming election.

Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and corrections. He previously worked at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office as a first-line supervisor, overseeing patrol operations and scheduling within the department. He also worked at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex and Kentucky State Penitentiary with the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Johnson resigned from that position to pursue his candidacy.

In addition to his law enforcement background, Johnson served as Field Service and OSHA Safety Coordinator for an industrial maintenance company, where he managed fleet operations, safety training, and regulatory compliance.

This is Johnson’s second campaign for the position. He ran for Marshall County Jailer in 2022.

Johnson’s campaign priorities include training and support for detention officers, expanding programming for inmates, transparency in jail operations and finances, coordination with law enforcement and courts, and inmate re-entry preparation.

Johnson is a Marshall County resident and is married with children and grandchildren.

The election for Marshall County Jailer will be held in 2026.
