
(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — The city of Calvert City has been honored as the Kentucky League of Cities’ City Government of the Year, a prestigious recognition celebrating excellence in municipal leadership and community service.
Terri Johnson, member relations and special initiatives manager for the Kentucky League of Cities, visited Calvert City to formally present the award to local officials. Mayor Gene Colburn accepted the honor on behalf of the city during the presentation ceremony.
“We are incredibly proud of this recognition,” Mayor Colburn said. The award reflects the collective efforts of the city’s leadership team, municipal staff, and engaged residents.
Mayor Colburn expressed gratitude to the Kentucky League of Cities for the distinction and thanked the city council, staff members, and citizens whose contributions have made Calvert City “a community worth celebrating every day.”
The City Government of the Year award recognizes municipalities that demonstrate outstanding governance, community engagement, and dedication to serving their residents. Calvert City joins a select group of Kentucky communities to receive this honor from the statewide organization representing cities across the Commonwealth.
