Benton to Host Annual Christmas Celebration with “Christmas Across the Decades” Theme

(BENTON, Ky.) — The City of Benton will transform its historic Court Square into a winter wonderland on Saturday, December 13, 2025, for the annual community Christmas celebration featuring the theme “Christmas Across the Decades.”

The family-friendly event begins at 3:00 PM with activities spread throughout downtown Benton, offering something for visitors of all ages before culminating in the traditional holiday parade at 5:30 PM.

Afternoon Activities Starting at 3:00 PM

The festivities will feature numerous local businesses and organizations hosting special activities:

Santa Claus will be available for photos at Puckett’s Jewelry, while children can mail letters to the North Pole at Mail Boxes Plus. Hair tinsel services will be offered at Jacks Boone salon.

Hot chocolate will be served at multiple locations, including Edward Jones (hosted by Thomas Simpson), Birdie’s Bookstore, Bake Out, and Republican Headquarters, which will also offer cookies.

Sweet treats will be available at Basement Bar Collectibles, while Chocolate Moonshine will serve mulled cider. The Benton Fire Department will host a s’mores station.

Community Involvement

State Farm agent Travis Terrell will distribute goodie bags and hold a gift card drawing. Filbeck & Cann will offer carriage rides from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM along with treats.

Solomon’s Porch will open for wassail and snacks from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, while Rossi Oliver will host activities throughout the afternoon. Life Coordinated will also provide special activities for attendees.

Special Events and Attractions

Riverwoods Church will host gingerbread house decorating, and the Marshall County Library will feature activities throughout the day. At City Hall, visitors can enjoy cookies and milk courtesy of Benton Electric System.

The Marshall County Art Center will present “Candyland with Benton Gas,” while the 11th Street Christmas Market will feature vendor booths. God’s Promises will sell goodie bags and baked goods.

Holiday Parade

The highlight of the evening will be the Christmas parade beginning at 5:30 PM on West 5th Street. This year’s theme, “Christmas Across the Decades,” will feature floats showcasing holiday traditions and styles from various eras.

The Benton Marketplace will remain open for normal business operations throughout the event.

Organizers encourage families and friends to gather downtown for an evening of music, shopping, seasonal cheer, and community spirit as Benton celebrates the holiday season together.
