(PADUCAH, Ky.) – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Monday night into Tuesday morning, affecting parts of southeast Missouri, far southern Illinois, and most of western Kentucky.

The advisory, issued at 3:04 PM CST on November 30, 2025, warns residents in the affected areas to prepare for hazardous travel conditions during the Monday evening commute and Tuesday morning.

What to Expect

Forecasters are predicting mixed precipitation across the Missouri Bootheel, far southern Illinois, and most of western Kentucky. The winter weather system is expected to bring up to one inch of snow and sleet accumulation, along with a light glaze of icing.

“Main impacts will be slippery roads, bridges, and sidewalks and other untreated surfaces,” the advisory states. “Travel impacts are possible or likely to occur during the Tuesday morning commute.”

Areas further north in the rest of southern Illinois and southwest Indiana can expect a brief period of light snow Monday night.

Temperature Concerns

In Trigg, Christian, and Todd counties in Kentucky, temperatures are forecast to remain above freezing, which means most precipitation in those areas will fall as rain rather than frozen precipitation.

Forecast May Change

Weather officials caution that conditions remain fluid. “There is still time for adjustments to the forecast, and additional counties may need to be included in the Winter Weather Advisory,” forecasters said. “Details will be finalized Monday morning.”

Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and plan accordingly for potential travel disruptions during the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes.
