
(MURRAY, Ky.)-The Murray State women’s basketball team claimed their fourth victory of the year with a 91-79 triumph over UAB at the CFSB Center on November 22, 2025. The Racers now stand at 4-2, while the Blazers fell to 2-3.
Murray State dominated early, establishing a 29-19 advantage after the opening period and extending it to a commanding 54-32 cushion by intermission. The Blazers mounted a fierce comeback in the third period, connecting on 63.64% of their attempts to outscore the Racers 32-21 and trim the deficit to 75-64 entering the final quarter. However, Murray State maintained composure down the stretch to preserve the 12-point margin. The game included 6 ties and 2 lead changes.
Three Racers achieved double-double performances to power the victory. Haven Ford led all Murray State scorers with 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including 3-of-7 from three-point range, while adding 12 boards and a team-best 6 assists. Sharnecce Currie-Jelks contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds, converting 8-of-13 field goal attempts. Keslyn Secrist completed the trio with 17 points and 10 rebounds, excelling at the charity stripe with a 10-of-12 effort.
UAB received a stellar inside effort from Monae’ Duffy, who paced all scorers with 26 points on an efficient 13-of-18 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds for a double-double. Reserve Eleecia Carter chipped in 16 points, including a pair of triples. Journey Armstead orchestrated the offense with a game-high 8 assists while adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. The Blazers shot 45.5% (35-77) overall but struggled at the line, converting just 6-of-11 attempts (54.5%).
The Racers will head to Florida for Thanksgiving and will play in the Daytona Beach Classic on Friday against George Mason at 12:30 PM CST and Saturday versus Boston College at 10 AM CST. The event will be held at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center.
