Murray State Honors Top FFA Students from Across Western Kentucky

(MURRAY, Ky.) — Murray State University’s Hutson School of Agriculture celebrated dozens of high school students from across western Kentucky at its annual FFA All-Region Stars recognition banquet on Nov. 17.

The event honored 54 students from the Purchase, Pennyrile and Green River regions who demonstrated outstanding leadership in their local FFA chapters. University President Dr. Ron Patterson delivered the keynote address, with Dr. Brian Parr, dean of the Hutson School of Agriculture, also offering remarks.

The honorees represent 20 high schools spanning the university’s 18-county service region.

Purchase Region honorees include Lacey Burnley and Miley Parker from Ballard Memorial High School; Abby Hathcock and Elijah Rudolph from Calloway County High School; Tucker Arnold, Jonah Bruer, Kase Kelly and Kaidance Vela from Carlisle County High School; Cara Capps and Emmarie Cermak from Fulton County High School; Brandon Hale, Mannix Hamilton and Darcey Sloan from Graves County High School; Abbey Bellew and Zeke Nicholas from Hickman County High School; Laken Davis and Brianna Fletcher from Livingston Central High School; Maggie Ralph and Kaden Seaford from Marshall County High School; Bailey Heider and Westen Richardson from McCracken County High School; Nick Bell, Taylor Jones and Wyatt Leatherwood from Murray High School; and Ethan Curling and Akia Kearney from Trigg County High School.

Lyon County honoree Adison Baker was also recognized as part of the Pennyrile region delegation.

Additional Pennyrile region honorees came from Caldwell County, Christian County, Crittenden County, Muhlenberg County and Todd County Central, while the Green River region was represented by students from Henderson County, Union County and Webster County.

The STARS program reflects Murray State’s ongoing commitment to supporting agricultural education and developing the next generation of leaders in Kentucky’s farming communities.
