
Mary Lois Hawes, 78, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 22, 1947, in Grenada, Mississippi, Mary lived a full and devoted life centered around her family. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Hawes, with whom she shared a remarkable 53 years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and the steady presence of unwavering devotion. She was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Mary Ann Dennis, and her late sons Brian Keith Hawes and Dwayne Edward Hawes.
Affectionately known as “Granny” and “Aunt Mer”, Mary was cherished for her sharp tongue, steady spirit, and the fierce love she poured into her family. That love was her greatest gift, and it will continue to guide and inspire them always.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Mary Ann, grandchildren Britney, Crystal, Devin, Austin, and Lauren, great-grandchildren Aidyn, Cale, Braxton, Brentley, and Jaxon, sisters Loretta and Vervia, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. Mary’s legacy of devotion, humor, and strength will live on in each of them.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe, with burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the funeral home. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Mary’s life.
