Roger Sigler, age 75, passed away on October 26, 2025, at his home in Benton, Kentucky.

Born on October 19, 1950, in Paducah, Kentucky, Roger’s marriage of 56 years to his wife Phyllis Sigler stood as a measure of testament of his love for her. He had a passion for the outdoors and it was evident in every aspect of his life. He was gifted in the ability to train horses and mules, a skill that showcased his patience. His happiest moments were spent riding through the countryside with family and friends. Roger and Phyllis were the Co-Owners of Willow Pond restaurants.

Roger cherished his time squirrel hunting, fishing, camping and traveling out West. His legacy, however, extended beyond his hobbies and into the lives of many young men he mentored. His often-repeated saying, “Let’s drop off here,” became a metaphor for taking a moment to enjoy life’s detours and hidden opportunities.

An avid supporter of the University of Kentucky basketball, you could often find him cheering on the Cats or watching an old western.

Roger was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church in Benton KY and served in his church whenever he had the opportunity.

Roger is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sigler of Benton; two daughters, Angie (Clay) of Benton, and Mindy (Chad) Freeman of Gilbertsville KY, and his  favorite Granddaughter, Quintney Freeman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Talmage Sigler and Vernell  Messamore Sigler, one sister, Betty Jo Mabry, and brother, Paul Sigler.

Visitation for Roger Sigler was held at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, KY, on Thursday, Oct.30, 2025.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, with Bro. Brad Walker officiating and Bro. Dennis Wynn assisting. Burial followed in Rowland Cemetery in Fredonia, KY
