(BRIENSBURG, Ky.) — Christian Fellowship School is collecting food donations through November 17th to benefit Marcella’s Kitchen’s Christmas baskets and blessing boxes.
The High School Bible Club and BETA Club are sponsoring the charitable drive, which features a friendly competition between classes. Students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to school before the deadline.
Donations are assigned point values to track class participation. Ramen noodles are worth 0.5 points, while canned vegetables, canned meats, peanut butter, and jelly each count for one point. All other items not specifically listed also receive one point.
The elementary class collecting the most points will be rewarded with a pizza party and ice cream. The winning middle school or high school class will earn a week of jeans and shirt-of-choice privileges, plus ice cream.
School organizers thanked the community in advance for their support of the initiative.
