
(LYON COUNTY, Ky.) – The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has released details of several incidents that occurred over the past week, including traffic collisions, arrests, and a juvenile burglary case.
Evasive Maneuver Leads to Off-Road Crash
On Monday, October 27, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a single-vehicle accident on KY 293. According to the investigation, Alan W. Parrent, 63, of Eddyville, was driving a 2024 Ford F250 eastbound when he attempted to pass a road maintenance contractor’s vehicle engaged in mowing operations.
The contractor vehicle then turned left into a driveway in the 3000 block of KY 293, forcing Parrent to take evasive action. His truck left the roadway, struck a mailbox and fence, and came to rest in a field. No injuries were reported.
Deer Strikes Continue on County Roads
Two separate deer-related collisions occurred during the week. On Wednesday, October 29, at 8:38 a.m., Chief Deputy Adams witnessed a deer enter the path of a 2018 Dodge Charger driven by Kahleen Nusbaum, 38, of Eddyville, on KY 274. Nusbaum was unable to avoid the animal, though no injuries resulted.
On Monday, November 3, around 6:30 a.m., Sheriff Brent White responded to another deer collision on KY 93 north of Lamasco. Ashlee A. Kent, 19, of Eddyville, was driving a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander southbound when a deer entered the roadway. While Kent’s vehicle was rendered inoperable, she was not injured.
Arrests and Warrants Served
Deputy Bobby Beeler arrested Corrina M. Trevino, 47, on Wednesday, October 29, around 7 p.m. on a Daviess District Court bench warrant for contempt of court. Trevino is awaiting extradition to Daviess County.
On Friday, October 31, Sheriff White arrested Darvie R. Sullivan, 45, of Grand Rivers, for driving on a DUI-suspended license. Sullivan, who was convicted of fourth-offense DUI in April 2021 and had her license suspended for five years, was charged with first-offense driving on a DUI-suspended license and lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
On Monday, November 3, Chief Deputy Adams arrested Amanda Hammons, 42, of Princeton, on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant. Hammons faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of a legend drug. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center on a $2,500 cash bond.
Juvenile Charged in Suwanee Burglary
Deputy Beeler responded to a burglary complaint in the Suwanee community on Sunday, November 2, around 1:15 p.m. His investigation resulted in charges against a juvenile male for third-degree burglary, theft, and third-degree criminal trespassing. The juvenile was released to the custody of an out-of-state relative.
