(MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky.) — A two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Blandville Road left one woman dead and sent a community into mourning.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Blandville Road and McKendree Church Road at approximately 3:33 p.m. Sunday, November 2, following reports of a collision with injuries.
According to investigators, Lee Turner, 36, of Paducah was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Blandville Road when he encountered slowed traffic. Turner moved into the westbound lane to avoid rear-ending a vehicle ahead of him.
While in the oncoming lane, Turner’s Malibu was struck head-on by a 2005 Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Amy Krieger, 51, of Jackson, Missouri, who was traveling westbound.
Michelle Buhler, 30, a passenger in Turner’s vehicle, sustained critical injuries in the crash. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Three young children who were also passengers in the Malibu were not injured. Turner and Krieger were also unharmed.
The Sheriff’s Office asked the public to keep the Buhler family and their children in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Mercy Regional Ambulance, West McCracken Fire Department, Paducah Police Department, McCracken County Department of Emergency Services, McCracken County Coroner’s Office and Bailey’s Wrecker Service.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
