Calvert City Pickleball Players Shine at Regional Tournaments

(CALVERT CITY, Ky.)-Calvert City pickleball enthusiasts brought home an impressive haul of medals from two recent regional tournaments, demonstrating the growing strength of the local pickleball community.

Players competed in the Murray State Paddle Battle and the Princeton City County Park Dink or Treat tournament, capturing gold, silver, and bronze medals across multiple divisions.

Murray State Paddle Battle Results

At the Murray State Paddle Battle, Calvert City athletes dominated several categories. Austin Loveless and Kenzie Wilson claimed gold in Mixed 4.0, while Logan Ottway and Bonnie Ottway earned silver in the same division. In Mixed 3.5, Nathan Carroll and Melissa Shelton took gold, with Marty and Vickie Gamble securing bronze.

The men’s divisions saw strong performances as well. Cannon Cornelius and Edwin Moore won gold in Men’s 4.0 doubles, while Micah Prude and Jose Guevara captured bronze. Prude also earned gold in Men’s 4.0 Singles. In the Men’s 3.0 Singles division, JD Whirley took gold and Marty Gamble earned silver.

Princeton City County Dink or Treat 2025

The Princeton tournament featured even broader participation from Calvert City players. Bill Clapp and Terrance Phifer won gold in Men’s 3.0-4.0, followed by Chad “Kreskin” Winstead and Shane Cosby with silver, and Marty Gamble and Mark Strickland with bronze.

In the Men’s 4.0 and Above division, Justin Crawford and Jackson Crawford captured gold, Austin Loveless and Micah Prude took silver, and Marvin Travis and Todd Dotson earned bronze.

Women competitors also excelled, with Brigette Thompson and Trish Jordan winning gold in Women’s 3.0-4.0, and Vickie Gamble and Ashley Woosley taking bronze. Jenny Travis and Kayla Travis dominated Women’s 4.0 and Above with gold, while Abbi Crawford and Anna Crawford claimed silver.

Mixed doubles competition saw multiple Calvert City victories. Marty and Vickie Gamble won gold in Mixed 3.5, while Kayla Travis and Marvin Travis captured gold in Mixed 4.0. Additional medalists included Jacob Doughty and Melissa Shelton (Mixed 3.0 silver), Anna Crawford and Micah Prude (Mixed 3.5 silver), Chad “Kreskin” Winstead and Laken Schroeder (Mixed 3.5 bronze), Abbi Crawford and Jackson Crawford (Mixed 4.0 silver), and Sara Darling and Gavin Caldwell (Mixed 4.0 bronze).
