(MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky.) — A Paris, Tennessee woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in McCracken County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Molly Gallimore, 54, was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima westbound on I-24 near the 10-mile marker when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons, authorities said. Her husband, Roderick Gallimore, 54, was a passenger in the vehicle.
The car traveled along the grass shoulder for approximately 100 yards before striking a concrete culvert wingwall, causing it to overturn and land on its roof in 2 to 3 feet of water, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Two off-duty FBI agents who witnessed the crash immediately stopped to help. They freed both occupants from the submerged vehicle and began performing CPR on Molly Gallimore.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where Molly Gallimore was pronounced dead. The condition of Roderick Gallimore was not released.
The Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, the McCracken County Coroner’s Office and Stinnett’s Towing assisted at the scene.
The sheriff’s office collision reconstruction team continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
