Marshall County High School to Host Big Orange Madness Basketball Kickoff Event

(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — Marshall County High School will tip off the 2025 basketball season with its annual Big Orange Madness event on Friday, November 14, featuring team introductions, performances, and community fundraising activities.

The evening celebration will run from 5:00 p.m. to approximately 8:50 p.m. at Reed Conder Gymnasium, showcasing basketball programs from elementary through high school levels along with cheerleading squads, dance teams, and the pep band.

“Big Orange Madness has become a tradition that brings our entire Marshall County community together to celebrate the start of basketball season,” said MCHS Athletic Director Mike Johnson in announcing the event.

The festivities will include a Magic Valley BBQ dinner in the MCHS cafeteria from 5:00-6:30 p.m., with tickets available for purchase from MCHS boys, girls, and cheer team members. Concurrently, a silent auction will take place in the main gym’s upper level from 5:00-8:30 p.m., with all proceeds benefiting the Marshall County Backboard Club.

Team introductions will begin at 5:00 p.m. with South Marshall Middle School girls’ and boys’ basketball and cheerleader presentations, followed by a packed schedule of performances and introductions throughout the evening. Highlights include the MCHS Special Olympics introductions at 6:00 p.m., the MCHS Pep Band performance at 7:40 p.m., and the Lady Marshals’ intrasquad scrimmage at 7:50 p.m.

The evening will culminate with the MCHS boys’ basketball team taking center stage at 8:30 p.m. for introductions and their own intrasquad scrimmage. The night will conclude with the FNB Bank and CFSB Money Scramble at 8:50 p.m.
