(PADUCAH, Ky.) — A routine traffic stop escalated into a brief pursuit Wednesday night, ending with a Paducah man facing drug charges after deputies found him hiding behind his overturned all-terrain vehicle.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a four-wheeler for traffic violations near the intersection of John Puryear Drive and Hovekamp Road at approximately 9:02 p.m. on October 23, 2025.
When deputies activated their emergency equipment, the ATV driver left the roadway and fled behind a residential area off Milliken Road, according to Deputy Ashley Copeland.
Deputies pursued on foot to the subject’s last known location, where they discovered the four-wheeler had flipped over. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Ryan Tucker of Paducah, was found crouched behind the overturned vehicle.
A search of Tucker revealed marijuana, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia on his person, deputies reported.
Tucker was arrested at the scene and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail, where he was lodged on the drug-related charges.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
