(McCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky.) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a white Ford Taurus that was indirectly involved in a collision on Interstate 24 earlier this month.

The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, in the westbound lanes of I-24 near the 12-mile marker, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have identified a white Ford Taurus, model year 2010 to 2019, that they believe was present during the incident. Deputies hope to speak with the vehicle’s operator to gather additional details about the collision.

The vehicle is described as white with chrome or alloy wheels and features distinctive black spot or paint damage on the rear trunk hatch near the driver’s side.

Chief Deputy Ryan Willcutt said authorities are not suggesting the driver was at fault, but rather that they may have witnessed critical details that could aid the investigation.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver is urged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office at 270-444-4719 or email Deputy Kenneth Baldwin at kbaldwin@mccrackencountyky.gov. Officials say all tips will remain confidential.
