Mayfield, KY – The Graves County Sheriff’s Office announced that detectives and deputies executed a search warrant early Saturday morning as part of an ongoing drug investigation into suspected methamphetamine sales in Graves County.

At approximately 4:39 a.m. on October 18, 2025, law enforcement officers served a search warrant at a residence located at 1001 Jeff Davis Road. The residence is owned by Tony D. Evans, 51, of Graves County.

Upon entry into the home, officers found Evans actively smoking methamphetamine. A subsequent search of the property resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of illegal drugs, weapons, and other contraband.

Items Recovered:

  • Approximately 98 grams (3.6 ounces) of crystal methamphetamine
  • Electronic scales and plastic baggies used for drug packaging and sales
  • $6,817 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales
  • Five handguns (one previously reported stolen in McCracken County)
  • Three long guns
  • Ammunition
  • Quantities of Hydrocodone
  • Marijuana
  • Drug paraphernalia

Evans has an extensive criminal history, including previous convictions for manufacturing methamphetamine and multiple counts of methamphetamine possession.

Following his arrest, Evans was transported to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday morning and later transferred to an out-of-county detention center.

Criminal Charges:

  1. Trafficking in Methamphetamine (enhanced)
  2. Possession of Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  3. Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  4. Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Hydrocodone)
  5. Possession of Marijuana
  6. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  7. Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm)

Under Kentucky law, the presence of firearms in connection with drug trafficking activities triggers an enhancement statute that upgrades the penalty level by one degree class. This enhancement was applied in this case.

The stolen handgun recovered during the search will be returned to its rightful owner in McCracken County following the conclusion of court proceedings.

The investigation remains ongoing.
