Marshall County Middle School Baseball Completes Successful 2025 Fall Season

(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — Marshall County’s middle school baseball program showed promising signs for the future as both teams wrapped up winning seasons this fall.

The Varsity Marshals finished with an impressive 20-6-1 record before their season ended in the Regional Semi-Finals with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Graves County at Brooks Stadium. The Junior Varsity squad also posted a winning record at 14-5-1, though they did not participate in postseason play.

Varsity Standouts

Eighth-grader Cam Driver led the Varsity offense with a stellar .483 batting average and 29 hits, while also recording a 1.115 OPS. Coen Doom proved to be a complete player, hitting .429 with 24 hits and leading the team with 22 RBIs and a remarkable 1.369 OPS. Doom also tied Ayden Williams for the team lead in RBIs and shared the Quality At Bats lead with Evan Staley at 47.

On the mound, Cam Cook paced the Varsity pitching staff with five wins and a 2.14 ERA. Cooper Gilmore led the team with nine games pitched, while Ayden Williams added eight appearances and three victories.

Defensively, Evan Staley posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage over 24 total chances, while Cam Cook recorded a .978 fielding percentage with 45 total chances. Cam Driver led all Varsity players with 56 total chances.

JV Makes Its Mark

The Junior Varsity Marshals received outstanding offensive production from Davin Smith, who hit .395 with 15 hits and 16 RBIs, and Weston McGregor, who batted .378 with 14 hits while leading the team with 17 RBIs and a .975 OPS.

Asher York dominated on the mound with five wins and a minuscule 1.13 ERA, while holding opponents to just a .120 batting average. Kelan Rose made eight pitching appearances and was nearly unhittable, limiting batters to a .083 average. Davin Smith added seven appearances with a 1.71 ERA.

Smith also excelled defensively with a .966 fielding percentage, followed by McGregor at .933.

Coaching the young Marshals were Kevin Driver, Clay Hale and Scotty Ives.  The successful 2025 fall campaign sets high expectations for Marshall County Baseball as these young athletes continue their development in the program.
