
(GRAND RIVERS, Ky.) – The Kentucky Interscholastic Cycling League held Race #4 of the season over the weekend in Grand Rivers, with Climb Time in Livingston County hosting competitors from across the Commonwealth on challenging trail courses.
Marshall County mountain bikers turned in strong performances across multiple categories, helping the team pull into a tie for second place in the overall standings with NKY Roots Campbell Composite. Both teams sit at 8289 points, trailing leader Hardin-Elizabethtown Composite heading into the final race of the season.
Leading the way for Marshall County was Brady Atkins, who finished fifth in the Varsity Boys division with a time of 1:25:45.49, earning 539 points. The race featured four laps on a demanding course that tested riders’ endurance and technical skills.
In the JV1 Boys category, Nathan Downs placed seventh (1:07:08.84) and Dalton Powell finished 19th (1:12:22.34). The JV2 Boys saw Max Dittman take ninth place (49:27.23) and Avery Criswell finish 15th (1:07:34.53).
Marshall County’s JV3 Boys competitors also posted solid results, with Nate Boone earning sixth place (51:02.48) and Gabriel Rob finishing ninth (54:00.07).
Emma Roberts was the top Marshall County finisher in the girls’ divisions, taking third place in Varsity Girls with a time of 1:40:15.83 and earning 556 points. Amelia Miller won the JV2 Girls race with a time of 51:59.09.
The youngest Marshall County competitors also made their mark. In Middle School racing, Gracen Newnum finished fifth in the A Boys division (42:08.57), while Hudson Atkins placed seventh (43:49.96). Molly Morris took fourth in Middle School A Girls (46:47.06), and Chloe Sharp competed but did not finish all laps.
Cooper Thompson finished seventh in Middle School B Boys (30:13.37), with teammates Blake Reed (15th), Darvin Harger (24th), and Hunter Criswell (34th) also competing. Jayclynn Fox placed third in Middle School B Girls (37:06.00).
In Middle School C Boys, Dax Powell finished seventh (36:30.46) and Brady Fleming took ninth (41:15.18).
