(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — More than 50 community members gathered at the Calvert City Civic Center on Sunday for the Carol Capps Pink Walk 2025, an annual event dedicated to supporting those battling breast cancer, honoring survivors, and remembering loved ones lost to the disease.
The walk brought together residents in a show of solidarity and community strength, with participants raising awareness about the importance of early detection and regular screenings.
“Together, we show the strength of our community — walking side by side, lifting each other up, and spreading hope one step at a time,” Calvert City Marketing Director Blair Travis said in a statement following the event.
The event was made possible through the generous support of local sponsors, including Hilary Washer State Farm and 50’s Café. Numerous local businesses also contributed items for a silent auction held during the gathering.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and donors, as well as CADA volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to ensure the event’s success.
In addition to the walk, organizers emphasized the critical importance of regular breast cancer screenings. Baptist Health Calvert City Clinic offers mammogram services to the community and stands ready to support residents in their preventive care needs.
“Early detection saves lives — please remember to get your regular breast cancer screenings,” sponsor Hilary Washer urged attendees.
The Carol Capps Pink Walk serves as an annual reminder of the community’s commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer and raising awareness about this life-saving cause.
