(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.)-The first round of the girls’ state golf tournament has been rescheduled due to anticipated severe weather on Tuesday, officials announced.
The tournament will now begin with an 8 a.m. CDT shotgun start at Bowling Green Country Club, moving up the original start time to accommodate inclement conditions in the forecast.
Tournament organizers are working to revise tee sheets in GolfGenius, with updated range time allotments to follow for all 90 participating players. Due to the large field, warm-up sessions will be limited to seven to eight minutes per player on the range.
“Please be mindful and courteous to all players” during warm-ups, officials stated in the announcement.
All players and coaches are required to attend a mandatory meeting on the back lawn at 7:50 a.m. CDT sharp. Player information packets, including scorecards and notices, will be available for pickup at the KHSAA tent in the outside pavilion area.
Following announcements, coaches, officials, and ADA carts will be permitted to transport players to their starting holes.
Plans for the second round remain fluid and will depend on how much progress is made during Tuesday’s opening round. Tournament officials said they intend to complete the championship on Wednesday after two full rounds of play, weather permitting.
