North Middle Participates in Regional Leadership Summit

North Marshall Middle School’s Beta Club Participates in Regional Leadership Summit
Cape Girardeau, MO – National Beta members from North Marshall Middle School are
celebrating their recent participation in the Missouri Regional Leadership Summit. They were announced as qualifiers of the following challenges: Project Proposal, Being Better Betas, and Collaboration Connection. In addition, they were also recognized as an Outstanding Leadership School.

National Beta Regional Leadership Summits bring together students from multiple states for a 2-day event. During that time, students work with interactive speakers who engage members through introspective exercises and team-building activities. Clubs also participate in team-based leadership challenges, which test their communication, critical thinking, creativity, presentation, and collaboration skills. Their victories at this level provide the opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN, during Summer 2026.

Since 2022, North Marshall Beta has competed in regional, state, and national competitions. In addition to competing, North Marshall Beta also serves in their school and community. The club currently has 150 members who work hard to represent their school and community with pride.

The focus of Beta is on service, character, leadership, and academic achievement.
Emersyn Smith, North Marshall Beta Club’s President for the 25-26 school year, reflects on her Leadership Summit experience by sharing, “I competed in Being Better Betas, where you give a speech based on an ethical dilemma. I also competed in Collaboration Connection, where you get to work with other officers in your club to complete a task. I really enjoyed my experience because I got to spend time with my friends, meet other leaders, and earn a spot at Nationals! Beta has helped me grow over the past two years, and I can’t wait to have the best year yet!”

With more than 500,000 active members and 14,000 clubs nationally and internationally, National Beta has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. National Beta promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. National Junior Beta includes grades 4-8, and National Senior Beta includes grades 9-12. Visit betaclub.org for more information.
