Marshall County Boys Golf Team Advances to State Tournament

(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) – The Marshall County boys golf team punched their ticket to the state tournament on Tuesday, finishing third at the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac KHSAA Substate Golf Tournament held at Calvert City Country Club.

The Marshals carded a combined team score of 308 to secure one of the qualifying spots for the state finals. With the third-place finish, Marshall County earned the right to compete in the Final Rounds of the State Tournament, scheduled for October 10th and 11th at Bowling Green Country Club.

Leading the way for Marshall County was Paxton Carter, who finished tied for 10th place with a score of 75 (+3). Ryan Stokes and Brooks Lamb both carded 76s (+4), tying for 13th place. Gage Norman shot 81 (+9) to tie for 36th, while Nolan Hurst rounded out the team scoring with an 86 (+14), finishing tied for 67th.

The substate tournament served as the final hurdle for teams hoping to extend their season, and the Marshals rose to the occasion on their home course. The third-place showing continues what has been a successful season for the Marshall County program.
