(EDDYVILLE, Ky.) — A 15-year-old male student was arrested early Monday morning on charges of second-degree terroristic threatening after allegedly making alarming statements to fellow students during a school lockdown last week, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Sunday evening regarding threats made to the high school that were separate from an incident that occurred on Friday. Deputy Bobby Beeler, School Resource Officer Deputy Cory Jessup, and school administrators worked together to identify the suspect and witnesses.
Following a multi-hour investigation, authorities determined the juvenile made one alarming statement and one threatening statement to other students during Friday’s lockdown period. Students who overheard the remarks reported them to their family members Sunday evening, prompting calls to school administrators and law enforcement.
Deputy Beeler took the juvenile into custody in the early morning hours of Monday, September 29, 2025. The student was charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and was booked into the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Paducah Monday morning.
Investigators have not yet determined whether this incident is connected to the threat received on Friday. Both the Kentucky State Police and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate.
