
(MAYFIELD, Ky.) — The Marshall County Lady Marshals volleyball team staged an impressive comeback Tuesday evening, defeating host Mayfield 3-2 in a thrilling five-set match.
After dominating the opening set 25-12, Marshall County found themselves trailing as Mayfield responded with back-to-back set victories, taking the second and third sets by identical 25-22 scores.
Facing a 2-1 deficit, the Lady Marshals regrouped and seized control of the fourth set, winning convincingly 25-18 to force a decisive fifth set. Marshall County carried that momentum into the final frame, closing out the match with a 15-8 victory.
The come-from-behind win showcased the team’s resilience and ability to perform under pressure in hostile territory. The match featured momentum swings throughout, with both teams displaying competitive volleyball before Marshall County ultimately prevailed.
The Orange will be at home on Thursday night to take on Murray High’s Lady Tigers.
