Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Reports Numerous Arrests

(BENTON, Ky.) – The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has released details of numerous arrests made throughout August and September 2025, highlighting continued law enforcement efforts across the county as deputies addressed a wide range of criminal activity over the two-month period.

Drug-Related Offenses

The late summer months saw several significant drug arrests across Marshall County. In August, a major drug bust occurred on August 24 when deputies stopped a vehicle on Treasure Island Road, leading to the arrests of Christa Harrison, 48, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and passenger Phayvanh Mountry, 45, of LaVergne, Tennessee. Both faced multiple trafficking charges involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, as well as marijuana and paraphernalia possession charges.

Earlier in August, deputies responded to a business on Highway 641 North after reports of two women appearing to be under the influence, resulting in the arrests of Donna Kleier, 68, of Louisville, and Sheila Murray, 65, of Mt. Washington. Kleier faced charges including trafficking methamphetamine and possession of prescription drugs not in proper containers, while Murray was charged with trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.

September continued the trend with Todd Lovett, 62, of Benton, being served an indictment warrant on September 3 for multiple charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and first-degree possession of controlled substances, along with being charged as a persistent felony offender.

Traffic stops yielded additional drug arrests throughout both months. Tyler Burgie, 36, of Benton, was charged with methamphetamine possession in August, while Cody Sperry, 23, of Aurora, was arrested in September during a vehicle stop and charged with first-degree possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A September 12 single-vehicle accident on Barge Island Road led to the arrest of Davey Bowler, 53, of Benton, who was determined to be under the influence and faced multiple drug possession charges.

DUI and Impaired Driving

Impaired driving enforcement remained a consistent priority throughout both months. August saw several DUI arrests, including Ethan Tasche, 23, of Bossier City, Louisiana, who was arrested following a collision on Moors Camp Highway on August 17. The month ended with two DUI arrests on August 30 when both Kaila Treat, 26, of Gilbertsville, and Aaron Russell, 37, also of Gilbertsville, were arrested on Moors Camp Highway for operating under the influence.

September continued with multiple impaired driving cases. Samuel Criswell, 61, of Benton, was arrested during a September 13 traffic stop on US 641 North for operating under the influence of alcohol. A serious incident occurred September 14 when Jeffery Ritchie, 43, of Grand Rivers, was involved in a collision on US 641 North and charged with operating under the influence and first-degree assault.

Additional September DUI arrests included Victor Diaz, 28, of Murray, and Paul Grimm, 51, of Gilbertsville, both arrested on September 20 for impaired driving offenses on US 641.

Property Crimes and Burglary

Both months saw various property crime arrests. In August, Jeffrey Clark, 60, of Benton, was charged with first-degree strangulation and criminal trespassing on August 21.

September featured an unusual burglary case when deputies responded on September 7 to a call about an unknown woman on a resident’s back porch. Timisha Brandon, 40, of Benton, was found to have been in the caller’s storage building and was arrested for public intoxication and third-degree burglary.

Property crime arrests in September also included Lisa Berkley, 54, of Benton, who was served a warrant for theft by unlawful taking and criminal possession of a forged instrument, and Matthew Holt, 44, of Benton, who was arrested on an indictment warrant for first-degree criminal mischief and receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more.

Violent Crimes and Domestic Incidents

August saw several arrests involving violent offenses, with multiple individuals facing assault charges including Lulu Wang, 42, Charles Hogarty, 61, and Gavin Thorn, 21. A concerning incident on August 27 led to the arrest of Chase McLeod, 18, of Calvert City, who was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment for allegedly pointing a loaded weapon at a family member during a disturbance call.

September’s domestic violence cases included the arrest of Jody Tucker, 48, of Murray, on September 16 for violation of a Kentucky Emergency Protective Order/Domestic Violence Order and first-degree stalking.

Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct

Public intoxication arrests occurred throughout both months. In August, David Hoffman, 45, of Hickory, was found intoxicated in a Benton parking lot and arrested for public intoxication.

September saw multiple public intoxication cases, including Angela Moore, 53, of Benton, arrested September 5 for second-degree disorderly conduct and alcohol intoxication in a public place, marking her third or greater offense within 12 months. Barry Orne, 62, of Kuttawa, was arrested September 21 after reports of an intoxicated man walking in traffic in Draffenville, while Lois Tefft, 45, was arrested September 22 after deputies found her manifestly under the influence on Mandor Road.

Outstanding Warrants and Court Violations

A significant portion of arrests over both months involved individuals with outstanding warrants or court compliance issues. August saw several probation violation arrests, including Ralph Phipps, 56, of Murray; Tyler Smith, 28, of Gilbertsville; and Hurshel Gregg McKendree, 51, of Hardin.

September continued this trend with multiple failure to appear arrests, including Richard Ford, 64, of Calvert City; James Roy Sims, 45, of Hardin; John Harpole, 47, of Benton (who was served four bench warrants from Graves County); Dustin Frost, 36, of Gilbertsville; and Susan Knapp, 42, of Ledbetter.

Probation violations in September led to the arrest of John Shavey, 50, of Benton, while contempt of court charges resulted in the arrest of Corey Glentz, 33, of Paducah.

Multi-State Fugitives

Both months featured arrests of fugitives from other states. In September, Tyler Flach, 25, of Benton, was arrested as a fugitive from another state, while Christa Harrison, 48, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, was charged with being a fugitive from justice due to outstanding Tennessee warrants. Notably, Harrison was also involved in the major August drug trafficking case on Treasure Island Road.

Joseph Baker, 32, of Bowling Green, was arrested in September on an indictment warrant from Caldwell Circuit Court for fleeing and evading police, wanton endangerment, and various traffic offenses.

Law Enforcement Challenges

Deputies dealt with suspects who resisted arrest during both months. In August, Ryan Green, 41, of Calvert City, was charged with resisting arrest after refusing to cooperate with deputies, while Shawn Adams, 48, of Hardin, led deputies on a chase when they attempted to stop him for driving without a valid license.

September saw similar challenges with traffic enforcement leading to multiple arrests for license violations, including Joseph Lane, 21, of Princeton, and Melissa Parrott, 38, of South Fulton, Tennessee, both arrested for various driving violations.
