
(PADUCAH, Ky.)-The National Weather Service in Paducah is forecasting a wet week ahead for the region, with daily rain chances that could bring much-needed relief to ongoing drought conditions.
According to meteorologists, rain chances will peak early to mid-week, with the highest probability of precipitation occurring Monday through Wednesday. However, unsettled weather may persist throughout the entire week, though coverage could become more scattered toward the weekend.
“Much needed rain is expected this week, with chances peaking Monday through Wednesday,” the National Weather Service reported. “It may remain unsettled later in the week, although coverage may be more scattered.”
Rainfall totals are expected to be significant across the region. Widespread amounts may exceed 2 inches by week’s end, with some localized areas potentially receiving over 3 inches of precipitation.
The upcoming wet weather comes as welcome news for the region, which has been experiencing drought conditions. Meteorologists note that this amount of rainfall should help alleviate the ongoing dry spell.
