(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) – Caleb Pike of Tupelo, Mississippi, dominated the competition this weekend at the Calvert City Gun Club’s “Double Doubles” skeet tournament, claiming both the overall championship and one of the individual event titles.
Pike’s stellar performance earned him the High Overall winner title with an impressive 196 out of 200 targets, narrowly edging out local competitor Jody Stevenson, who finished as runner-up with 194/200.
The weekend featured two separate 100 Doubles events that showcased the precision and skill of competitive shooters from across the region.
In the first 100 Doubles event, Jody Stevenson took top honors with a near-perfect score of 99/100. The battle for runner-up proved intense, with Gavin Stevenson ultimately prevailing in a tie-breaker shootout against Pike, both having shot 98/100 in regulation.
The second 100 Doubles event saw Pike claim victory after his own tie-breaker battle with Ken Ford. Both shooters had matched each other with scores of 98/100 before Pike emerged victorious in the sudden-death format.
When the dust settled on the overall standings, Gavin Stevenson rounded out the top three finishers, earning third place after winning yet another tie-breaker shootout – this time against Ford, with both competitors having shot identical scores of 193/200.
The tournament highlighted the competitive depth of regional skeet shooting, with multiple events decided by razor-thin margins and requiring tie-breaker rounds to determine final placings.
