(KUTTAWA, Ky.) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 is currently investigating a sexual assault that took place in Smith Bay area of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) on August 30, 2025.
On August 31, 2025 KSP Post 1 received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred the night before. An adult female was found unconscious on the bank of Kentucky Lake in the area of Smith Bay. Upon regaining consciousness, she refused medical treatment that night, but later reported to an area hospital on August 31st where she presented with injuries consistent with sexual assault.
KSP is aware of a glow party that was hosted in Smith Bay the night of the assault. The victim does report having been in attendance of that party prior to her loss of consciousness.
