
MURRAY, Ky. – The Marshall County Lady Marshals delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday evening, defeating the Murray High Lady Tigers in straight sets (3-0).
The Lady Marshals (5-1) demonstrated their depth and skill throughout the contest, with multiple players contributing to the decisive victory. Senior Olivia Hawkins led the offensive attack with 7 kills, while fellow senior Catherine Shelton anchored the defense with 7 digs and added 6 assists to help distribute the ball effectively.
Junior Emma Reynolds proved instrumental in setting up the offense, recording a team-high 20 assists while also contributing 4 kills. Sophomore Bella Redden provided a solid all-around performance with 4 kills and 10 digs, showcasing the team’s balanced attack.
The Lady Marshals’ serving game was particularly effective, with the team combining for 13 service aces. Senior Hadley Barrett led the way with 3 aces, while Redden and senior Maleah Terry each contributed 3 aces of their own.
Defensively, Marshall County was led by Shelton’s 7 digs, with Reynolds (4 digs), Terry (3 digs), and sophomore Olivia Curtner (3 digs) providing additional support in the back row.
The team will be back in action on Thursday on the road at Ballard Memorial.
