Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Veteran Law Enforcement Officer as School Resource Deputy

(BENTON, Ky.)– Sheriff Matt Hilbrecht announced the addition of Deputy Benny Kauffman to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, bringing two decades of law enforcement experience to the department.

Kauffman joins the Marshall County team after retiring from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for 13 years. Prior to his tenure in McCracken County, he spent seven years with the Eddyville Police Department, accumulating a total of 20 years in law enforcement.

The veteran officer will serve as a School Resource Officer, a role that will utilize his extensive background in both investigations and supervision. His appointment comes as school districts nationwide continue to prioritize campus safety and security measures.

“Deputy Kauffman is passionate about public safety and we look forward to how his experience will add value to our team and the safety of Marshall County Schools,” Sheriff Hilbrecht said in announcing the appointment.

The addition of Kauffman strengthens the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to maintaining safe learning environments throughout the county’s school system. His investigative experience and supervisory background are expected to enhance the department’s school safety initiatives.
