(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — The Calvert City Police Department has announced several arrests following investigations into property damage, vehicle thefts, domestic violence, and trespassing incidents over the past three weeks.

Property Damage Leads to Criminal Mischief Charge

In late August, police responded to reports of significant property damage at the Calvert City Apartments. Management reported extensive damage to multiple interior doors, with repair estimates totaling $2,768.

Following the investigation, Tre’Von Marcae De’Keith Reed, 27, of Paducah, was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons on August 26 for criminal mischief in the first degree involving residential rental property. Reed, a former tenant at the complex, admitted to causing the damage during questioning with officers.

Multi-Agency Effort Solves Vehicle Break-In Spree

On August 31, officers investigated a series of vehicle thefts in the East 2nd Avenue area. Security footage revealed a male suspect on a bicycle in the vicinity during the time of the break-ins.

The investigation took a significant turn when stolen items were recovered at a local business. Additional security camera footage showed the suspect in a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck with a camper top. When police shared the vehicle description with surrounding agencies, they learned the truck had been stolen from Huntsville, Alabama, and was already impounded by Paducah Police Department.

Michael Lee Williams Thompson, 25, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, was subsequently charged with four counts of theft by unlawful taking from a vehicle. Both occupants of the stolen truck had already been arrested by Paducah police and were interviewed at McCracken County Jail.

“We’d like to thank the Paducah Police Department and McCracken County Jail for their assistance in this case,” the Calvert City Police Department stated.

Domestic Violence Arrest on EM Hurley Road

A domestic violence incident on September 4 resulted in another arrest after a third party called police while on the phone with the victim, reporting they could hear an assault in progress on EM Hurley Road.

Officers responded to the scene and spoke with the female victim. When the male suspect returned to the address, police conducted further investigation that led to the arrest of Brent Allen Gremore, 40, of Gilbertsville. Gremore was charged with fourth-degree assault with domestic violence involving minor injury. He was also served with two outstanding Marshall County warrants for failure to appear in court.

Trespassing Arrest at Apartment Complex

The most recent arrest occurred on September 6 when an officer spotted a subject walking on the grounds of Calvert City Apartments who was known to be banned from the property.

Joshua Luke Tabor, 37, of Calvert City, was contacted by police and acknowledged he was aware of the trespassing order but claimed he was only retrieving his phone. Tabor was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
