Marshall County Runners Compete at Central Kentucky Run for the Gold

(ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky.) – Marshall County cross country athletes traveled to Elizabethtown Sports Park over the weekend to compete in the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold meet, with several runners posting strong performances in the 5000-meter race.

Boys Results Highlight Strong Team Depth

Leading the way for the Marshall County boys team was Kobey Yates, who finished an impressive 3rd place overall with a time of 14:47.70. Levi Walker also cracked the top tier, placing 3rd with a time of 16:59.90.

The Marshals demonstrated solid team depth throughout the field. Thatcher Newnum (18:37.40) and Jared Gaudy (18:57.20) both finished in the top 35, placing 23rd and 31st respectively. Jake Fennel rounded out the top portion of Marshall County’s scoring with a 34th-place finish in 19:11.50.

Additional Marshall County boys finishers included Madden Lovett (40th, 19:15.70), Chase Duncan (95th, 21:04.00), Keagin Owens (141st, 23:12.40), Hubert Mclean (144th, 23:18.70), Kasey Wyatt (145th, 23:20.70), Hank Harper (161st, 24:21.90), and Jordan McGuire (163rd, 24:27.20).

Girls Team Shows Competitive Spirit

The Marshall County girls team was led by Avery Lyles, who posted a time of 22:34.40 to finish 136th overall. Close behind was Ava Sutherland in 141st place with a time of 22:42.80.

Lexi Driver (23:34.40, 163rd), Delilah Evans (24:46.60, 192nd), and Kendall James (24:46.70, 193rd) continued the solid team showing. Destiny Dickson completed the Marshall County girls contingent with a 227th-place finish in 27:00.70.

This Saturday, the harriers will be running at the McCracken County Cross Country Invitational in West Paducah.
