(WEST PADUCAH, Ky.) — Marshall County’s girls soccer team earned a vital district victory Thursday night, defeating their opponents 1-0 in a defensive battle.
Addi Wall found the back of the net, providing what would prove to be the game’s only goal. Wall’s strike came at the 34:55 mark of the first half, giving Marshall County the lead they would carry through the remainder of the match.
The victory was built on a foundation of disciplined defense and stellar goalkeeping. Goalkeeper Savannah Dodd recorded a clean sheet, turning away every shot she faced to preserve the narrow advantage.
Marshall County’s defensive unit worked cohesively throughout the contest, limiting scoring opportunities and supporting Dodd’s shutout effort. The combination of organized defending and clinical finishing proved to be the difference in this important district matchup.
The Lady Marshals will look to build on this momentum when they travel to Murray on Tuesday. They are scheduled to face the Murray High Lady Tigers at 5:30 p.m. at the Mallory France Soccer Complex.
