(BARDWELL, Ky.)-Marshall County’s volleyball squad overcame an early deficit to capture a 3-1 road win against Carlisle County in an intense Monday evening matchup.
After falling behind with a 20-25 loss in the first set, the Lady Marshals responded with determination, edging out a narrow 25-23 victory in set two. The match reached its peak intensity during the third set, featuring several momentum swings and extended rallies before Marshall County emerged victorious 32-30 in what proved to be the evening’s most competitive frame.
Riding the wave from their dramatic third-set triumph, the Lady Marshals took control in the final set, cruising to a commanding 25-16 finish to seal the victory.
The win improves Marshall County’s record to 2-0 on the young season. The team returns home for their next contest against Christian Fellowship School (1-5) tonight.
Leading the statistical categories for the Lady Marshals were Emma Reynolds with 35 assists, Hadley Barrett with 45 digs, and Olivia Hawkins with 15 kills.
