(EDDYVILLE, Ky.) — Lyon County law enforcement officers responded to a variety of incidents over the past two weeks, including burglaries, thefts, vehicle crashes, and multiple arrests on outstanding warrants and traffic violations.

Juvenile Burglary Case Resolved

Deputies have filed charges against two juveniles in connection with a burglary that occurred on Oriole Drive in Old Eddyville. Deputy Bobby Beeler began investigating the August 11 incident after responding to the burglary complaint around 8:17 p.m. His week-long investigation revealed that the juveniles had broken into an RV camper, causing nearly $1,000 in damages.

Motorcycle Theft Reported

A Lamasco resident reported his motorcycle stolen after running out of gas on US 62 near Major’s Loop on August 10. The victim told Deputy Shannon Oliver that he had walked to a nearby Huck’s Travel Center for fuel, but when he returned, his black Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle was gone. The victim said it was his only means of transportation. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 270-388-2311.

Trespassing Arrests Made

Sheriff Brent White arrested three individuals on criminal trespass charges August 19 after discovering them at a residence where they had been previously told not to return. The property owner had requested extra patrols and was not present during the incident. Those charged were Maranda M. Driver, 34, of Princeton; Christian E. Romero, 27, of Princeton; and Brett Sherill, 52, of Fredonia.

Outstanding Warrants Served

Deputies served multiple outstanding warrants during the reporting period. Melissa Mills, 60, of Fredonia, was arrested on a Knox Circuit Court bench warrant for unpaid fines and awaits extradition. Ashley N. Rollins, 32, of Corryton, Tennessee, was brought back from Knox County on charges related to a 2021 case involving a vehicle pursuit and probation violation.

Vehicle Accidents Result in Charges

Two separate vehicle accidents led to arrests this week. On August 20, Tana S. Stewart, 34, of Cadiz, lost control of her 2001 Nissan Altima on KY 93 South after swerving to avoid a deer. Her vehicle overturned, but she refused medical treatment. Stewart was cited for driving without insurance.

The following day, John M. Huddleston, 29, of Kuttawa, crashed his motorcycle into a creek after failing to negotiate a curve on KY 810 North. Chief Deputy Sam Adams arrested Huddleston on charges of DUI-first offense, operating without a motorcycle license, and driving without insurance.

Repeat Offender Arrested Twice

Laycee C. Hunter, 33, of Eddyville, was arrested twice within two days on the same charge. She was first cited August 21 for driving on a DUI-suspended license during a domestic disturbance investigation in Saratoga, where someone had reportedly damaged her vehicle. The next day, she was arrested again on the same charge after another incident at the Methodist Church parking lot in Saratoga. This time, Hunter was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Additional Arrests

Mae N. Frazier, 51, of Lexington, was arrested during a domestic disturbance call on August 21, with outstanding warrants from Hardin and Fayette counties for failure to appear and receiving stolen property.

Larry T. Noel, 25, of Cadiz, was cited for marijuana possession after he and others were found trespassing on private property while attempting to access Lake Barkley through residential yards.
