
Farrel June Leneave, 91 of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Born Friday, May 11, 1934, in Benton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jack Gatlin and the late Faye Swift Gatlin. June graduated from Benton High School in 1953. June was quite the beauty being crowned as Miss Marshall County in 1952. She was also selected as Miss Benton High School in 1953. June worked at the Chevrolet Cafe and the Marshall County Co-Op Store and later at Morgan’s Department Store for 25 years. She was also a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
She was always devoted to her children by being a room mother, softball coach, or baking sweets for bake sales. She was a wonderful mother who dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, she also loved shopping and Angel, her cat, who was the topic of most of her conversations. She also loved to keep up with her friends on Facebook. June lived in Marshall County until she moved to Terre Haute, Indiana in 2022 to be closer to family.
Surviving are son, Johhny D. Leneave (Sally) of Conroe, TX, daughter, Teresa Marvel (Jon) of Terre Haute, IN, sister, Joan King of CA; grandchildren, Patrick Leneave (Anne Marie), Sean Leneave (Ali), Kelsey Leneave Putoff (Collin) all of TX, and Jordan Leneave (Kristen) of IN; great grandchildren, Eloise May Leneave, Adeline June Leneave, Liam Fulton, Harper Elise, Mack Erwin, Jensen Thomas, Brooks Joseph, Callum Michael, and Karsen June Marvel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert of 57 years, her brothers, Frank Gatlin, Jack Gatlin, John Gatlin, Robert “Bob” Gatlin, Henry Gatlin and David Gatlin, and sisters, Elizabeth Tolbert and Ann Connor.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Stephens officiating.
Burial will follow at the Benton Cemetery.
