
(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) – The Marshall County Marshals continued their perfect start to the season with a commanding 5-1 victory over Paducah Tilghman on Friday night, improving to 2-0 on the young campaign.
Sophomore striker Maddox Schroader led the offensive charge for the Marshals, netting two goals in the dominant performance. The balanced attack was further bolstered by single tallies from Ethan Upton, Lincoln Colburn, and Maddox Colburn.
“Our guys came out ready to play tonight,” said Marshals Head Coach Bryan Smothers. “We’ve been working on our ball movement in practice, and it showed with some great teamwork out there.”
The Marshals controlled the tempo throughout the match, with Houston Johnson and John Shadowen each contributing assists to help set up the scoring opportunities.
Between the posts, keeper Carson Lovett had a solid outing for Marshall County, allowing just one goal while making one save. Nick Clapp also saw action in goal and recorded a save for the Marshals.
The early-season success has the team optimistic as they continue to build chemistry and momentum. With strong offensive production (12 goals) and steady goalkeeping (1 goal allowed), Marshall County appears well-positioned for another successful campaign.
The Marshals will look to extend their winning streak when they return to action next Tuesday at home against Ohio County.
