Local Vineyard Invites Community to Annual Grape Harvest Event

(GILBERTSVILLE, Ky.) – Buckhorn Creek Vineyard and Winery is preparing for its second annual “Snip and Sip” harvest event, inviting community members to participate in picking Chardonnay grapes while enjoying wine tastings and fellowship.

The harvest event is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, beginning at 7 a.m. to avoid the summer heat. Volunteers will help harvest the vineyard’s Chardonnay grapes, and in return, participants will be treated to tastings of the winery’s complete selection and a communal meal.

“Last year for our first harvest, we had 38 people show up and we finished everything in just three hours,” said vineyard owner Stacey Bradley. The overwhelming community response demonstrated strong local interest in supporting the agricultural venture.

The vineyard, located at 5957 Moors Camp Highway in Gilbertsville, encourages interested participants to contact them in advance. Those with questions about the event can call or text Bradley at (270) 703-5841.

The Snip and Sip event combines agricultural education with community building, allowing participants to experience firsthand the grape harvesting process while supporting a local business. The early morning start time reflects the practical considerations of grape harvesting, as cooler temperatures help preserve grape quality and provide more comfortable working conditions for volunteers.

Buckhorn Creek Vineyard and Winery’s harvest event represents a growing trend of agritourism in Kentucky, where agricultural businesses engage directly with their communities through hands-on experiences.
