
(EDDYVILLE, Ky.) – The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has reported multiple arrests and law enforcement activities from August 6-10, 2025.
Wednesday, August 6 Warrant Operations
Beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m., deputies executed several warrants, resulting in five arrests:
Michael J. Simmons, 29, of Bowling Green, was taken into custody on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant. He faces charges of Promoting Contraband in the First Degree and Persistent Felony Offender. Simmons remains in state custody.
Phillip M. Hobdy, 39, of Owensboro, was arrested on similar charges through a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant for Promoting Contraband in the First Degree and Persistent Felony Offender. He also remains in state custody.
Bryan M. Enoch, 36, of Smithland, was served with a Lyon District Court bench warrant for Failure to Appear in a traffic case. Additionally, he was charged under a Livingston Circuit Court indictment warrant with multiple offenses including Receiving Stolen Property ($500-$1,000), Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Destruction of VIN Number, No Registration Receipt, and No Registration Plates. Enoch was subsequently booked into the McCracken County Jail.
Joshua W. Calvert, 29, of Lebanon, was arrested on charges of Promoting Contraband in the First Degree and Persistent Felony Offender. He was also served with a Marion District Court bench warrant for Non-payment of Fines, Fees, and Costs. Calvert remains in state custody.
Lovell Turner, 28, of Louisville, was charged under a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant with Assault in the Third Degree (inmate assault on correctional employee) and Persistent Felony Offender. Turner remains in state custody.
Thursday, August 7 Activities
At 11:25 a.m., Sheriff Brent White and Captain Dennis Beckett arrested Dequantis T. Crouch, 26, of Clarksville, Tennessee, on a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant for Probation Violation related to a felony offense. Crouch was extradited from Tennessee and booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Later that evening around 7 p.m., a multi-agency operation in the Salem area of Livingston County resulted in another arrest. Deputies from Lyon and Livingston counties, Kentucky State Police, and the Western Kentucky Violent Crime Task Force were conducting an investigation when Justice M. Cordova, 31, of Paducah, was arrested by KSP. She was served with a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant charging her with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree (more than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia Possession. The investigation is being led by Chief Deputy Sam Adams with multi-agency support. Cordova was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Friday, August 8 Burglary Investigation
At 5:30 a.m., Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a burglary in progress on Birdie Bannister Road in southern Lyon County. At least three suspects stole two ATVs from a residence, riding them off the property before heading north on KY 274. The stolen ATVs were recovered on Sunday, August 10, at 2:30 p.m., when Deputy Josh Travis and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office located them in a rural farm field off Otter Pond Road in Caldwell County.

Saturday, August 9 Marina Disturbance
At 7:24 p.m., deputies and KSP troopers responded to a disturbance at Hu-B’s Marina in Kuttawa. The investigation led to the arrest of Russell L. Schmidt, 49, of Springfield, Illinois, who was charged with Menacing and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. Schmidt was booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
