(MURRAY, Ky.) — A Murray resident was taken into custody Tuesday evening after a police officer witnessed inappropriate public behavior during a routine patrol.

A Murray Police Department sergeant was conducting patrols in the southern part of the city around 5 p.m. on August 6 when he discovered a man without clothing outside his home engaging in sexual conduct visible to passersby.

The individual, identified as Charles Maupin (also known as Charles Harding), age 57, initially fled inside his house when the officer approached and initially refused to come out. After some time, Maupin eventually emerged and was placed under arrest.

Police have filed charges of second-degree indecent exposure and resisting arrest against Maupin. Authorities report this marks the fourth occasion in recent months that Maupin has faced similar indecent exposure charges, with the previous incidents occurring within the last four months.

The Murray Police Department continues to patrol neighborhoods to ensure public safety and appropriate conduct in residential areas.
