Calvert City Police Department July Arrests

(Calvert City, Ky.)– On July 07, 2025 an officer responded to the Calvert City Apartments in reference to a theft call.  A resident arrived home and found her patio table, umbrella and several bags of clothing missing.  After further investigation, the items were found at a nearby apartment.  Contact was made with the resident who admitted to taking them without permission.  On July 15, 2025 Crystal M. Richard, 55, of 2035 Barnes Street, Apt. #3, Paducah was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons for theft by unlawful taking.
On July 06, 2025 an officer responded to Good Spirits in reference to multiple shoplifting complaints on the same person.  A person of interest was identified thanks to the public’s help.  The officer obtained an arrest warrant and on July 17, 2025 the subject turned himself in to the police department.  Tyler G. Thorn, 25, of 824 Thorn Road, Gilbertsville was served a Marshall County Warrant for theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.  Mr. Thorn was also served another Marshall County Warrant for failure to appear.
On July 18, 2025 officers were dispatched to a business on North Main Street in reference to a call for shots fired.  Upon arrival the officer spoke to a truck driver.  He advised that he was there to pick up a load of items and could not find anyone.  He walked into the loading dock area to see if anyone was available.  He made contact with an employee who asked him why he was in the area and asked him to leave.  The driver attempted to speak with the employee and the employee drew a firearm from his waistband area and discharged it.  The employee admitted to discharging the firearm.  Cody Alan Copeland, 30, of 4100 Lakeview Church Road, Benton was arrested for wanton endangerment 1st – discharge of firearm (enhancement).
On July 20, 2025 an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on US 62.  Upon initiating a traffic stop and making contact with the operator, the operator seemed nervous, was slow to react, and had glassy appearing eyes.  The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected.  Kyle Matthew Mohler, 37, of 136 Chandler Ct., Grand Rivers was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense.  He was also charged with license to be in possession and speeding (61/45).
On July 25, 2025 an officer was dispatched to Good Spirits to assist another agency.  An ABC official was requesting assistance on an individual with a warrant.  The officer made contact with the individual and confirmed that the warrants were active.  Stephanie Marie Mayo, 57, of 4360 N. Wadesboro Road, Benton was arrested on two Hardin County Warrants for failure to appear.
On July 23, 2025 officers took a report of harassment between neighbors at the Calvert City Apartments.  The victim advised that for the last three days his neighbor has been yelling at him and threatening to assault him.  After further investigation, a criminal summons was obtained.  On July 27, 2025 James N. Schmidt, 60, of 594 Cedar Street, Apt. #4, Calvert City was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons for harassment (no physical contact).
