(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) – Marshall County High School baseball head coach Tyler O’Daniel has stepped down from his position, ending a four-year tenure that brought significant success to the program.

O’Daniel, who earned 2025 KHSBCA Region 1 Head Coach of the Year honors, compiled an 81-56 record during his time leading the Marshals. The former Marshall County infielder assumed the head coaching role in July 2021 and transformed the program into a regional powerhouse.

Under O’Daniel’s leadership, the Marshals captured three consecutive 4th District Championships and achieved three seasons with 20 or more victories – a testament to the program’s consistent excellence during his tenure.

“Coaching at Marshall County has been an absolute dream come true for me,” O’Daniel said in his resignation statement. “For the last 4 years, my staff and I have poured everything we had into this program and I find comfort in knowing that we held nothing back, ever!”

The decision to step down stems from O’Daniel’s desire to spend more time with his family.

“I miss my kids, my nights with Kalyn (my wife) and I have never experienced just being able to go to games and enjoy watching,” he explained. “To be clear, this is my decision. I have the most supportive family that I could ask for and I want to be there with them.”

Marshall County High School will immediately begin the search for O’Daniel’s replacement.
