Anna Jean (Lamb) Rickman, age 86 of Benton, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Anna was born on Friday, March 17, 1939. She was the daughter of Roy “Goebel” and Bethel (Darnall) Lamb. She was married to her husband, Ronnie Rickman for 32 years.
Anna, also known as Granny to many was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a 1957 graduate from South Marshall High School where she served as the Class Secretary. Her career as a nurse and caregiver for over 40 years at Marshall County Hospital and in private home care was just one of the many ways she showed her compassionate and nurturing nature. Her smile, laughter and positivity were contagious, bringing joy to all those around her. She had a special love for animals and nature, spending her free time gardening, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. She loved watching cooking shows, listening to the Smith Brothers on WCBL every Sunday morning, and was the KY Wildcat basketball team’s number one fan by cheering them on every season. She was a member of the Oak Valley Church of Christ and attended Hardin Baptist Church. Her love for life and her family was evident in everything she did.
She is survived by her children: Tim York (Angie), Tony York (Kim), and Tammi York Taylor. Her six grandchildren: Jeremy Holmes (Misty), Jessie York (Brittney), Tosha York Clark (Adam), Amber York Egner (Ben), Gracie York (Wessel Van Huyssteen) and Dalton York. Her nine great grandchildren: Zephyr & Ophelia York, Kayl & Gunner Clark, Macy & Brogan Egner, Conner Holmes, and Macie & Skylar Dotters. Her two step-daughters, Rhonda Long (David) and Rina Galehouse (Mike); three step grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren, many extended family members and friends, as well as her sweet dogs, Nadine, Margo & Scout.
Anna was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, her loving husband, Ronnie Rickman who just recently passed away, and her beloved first cousin, Jimmy Castleberry, who was like a brother.
Anna will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing she made a positive impact on everyone she met.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM with the funeral held at 3 pm in the Chapel of Collier Funeral Home with David Hendrickson officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery located in Benton, KY.
