James B. Oakley, Jr., 92 of Hardin, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky.
Born Wednesday, June 28, 1933, he was the son of the late James Oakley and the late Lula Smith Oakley. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Murray State University where he worked the events that were held on campus.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Strickland Oakley; sons, Steve Oakley of Benton, KY and Michael Oakley of Louisville, KY; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Oakley, his daughter, Teresa Stratton; his brothers, Eura Oakley and Clovis Oakley and his sisters, Dorothy Morris and Lounell Lovett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Hopkins officiating.
Burial with Military Rites to follow at Unity Cemetery in Hardin, KY.
