Mary Thompson, 93 of Hardin, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at her home.
Mary was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on December 19, 1931 to the late Aubrey Gore and Lillie Myers Gore. She was a homemaker and seamstress at Corn Austin Clothing Store in Murray. She also worked alongside her husband, Mason, at South Marshall Elementary School. Mary loved spending time gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a longtime member of Hardin Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Thompson (Randall) of Murray, KY; son, Anthony Thompson (Shawn) of Wellington, FL; sister, Anna Sirls of Hardin, KY; three grandchildren, Katie MacDonald of New Bern, NC, Aaron Thompson and Audrey Thompson, both of Wellington, FL; two great-grandchildren, Lina and A.J. MacDonald.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Mason Thompson; brothers, James Gore, Junior Gore and Larry Gore; sister, Laverne Mardis; and her parents.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with David Smith and Mike Burchett officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
